Short Matters 2014 Trailer

Θα θέλαμε να σας ενημερώσουμε ότι οι ταινίες "Zima" και "Butter Lamp" η προβολή των οποίων είχε προγραμματιστεί για το φετινό "Short Matters" έχουν ήδη προσκληθεί (με τους αντίστοιχους σκηνοθέτες τους) στο Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό «Φεστιβάλ Ταινιών Μικρού Μήκους Κύπρου», ο οποίος θα πραγματοποιηθεί στη Λεμεσό, στις 11-17 Οκτώβρη.

Ως το επίσημο φεστιβάλ ταινιών μικρού μήκους της Κύπρου, οι κανόνες και κανονισμοί τους, προυποθέτουν ότι όλές οι διαγωνιζόμενες ταινίες είναι σε πρώτη Παγκύπρια προβολή και για το λόγο αυτό, οι ταινίες αυτές θα πρέπει να εξαιρεθούν από το "Short Matters".

We would like to inform you that the films "Zima" and "Butter Lamp" which are scheduled for screening during this year “Short Matters” have already been invited (with their respective film directors) to the International Competition of the “Short Film Festival of Cyprus”, which will be held in Limassol from 11-17 October.

As the official short film festival of Cyprus, their rules and regulations demand that all competing films are a Cyprus Premiere. For this reason these films must be excluded from “Short Matters”.

Με φόντο ποικίλα και λίγο ή πολύ εξωτικά τοπία, διάφορες οικογένειες αρχίζουν να επισκέπτονται το φωτογράφο. Μέσα από αυτές τις λήψεις, ο φωτογράφος θα υφάνει μοναδικές συνδέσεις μεταξύ των διάφορων χωρικών.

Σύνοψη: Η ταινία «Houses with small windows» είναι ένα ισχυρό αλλά και σιωπηλό πορτρέτο ενός φόνου τιμής στην αγροτική Κουρδική Νοτιοανατολική Τουρκία. Η 22χρονη Dilan πληρώνει την απαγορευμένη της αγάπη για έναν νεαρό άνδρα σε ένα γειτονικό χωριό, με τη ζωή της. Ντρόπιασε την οικογένεια και, συνεπώς, πρέπει να πεθάνει από τα χέρια των ίδιων των αδελφών της. Και όπως το έχει η παράδοση, η φόνος πρέπει να αποζημιωθεί.

Synopsis: 'Houses with small windows' is a powerful and yet muted portrait of an honour killing in the rural Kurdish Southeast of Turkey. 22-year old Dilan pays for her forbidden love for a young man in a neighbouring village with her life. She has shamed the family and therefore must die at the hands of her own brothers. And as tradition will have it, the killing must be compensated.
