Περίληψη: Μπαίνοντας στον ήδη άγνωστο εικονικό χώρο ενός στερεοσκοπικού ψηφιακού animation, οι θεατές βρίσκονται πίσω από τα μάτια ενός αθέατου και σαφώς αναξιόπιστου πρωταγωνιστή, τόσο υπεκφυγή που ο ίδιος αλλά και τα κίνητρά του δύσκολα μπορούν να προσδιοριστούν. Καταφθάνοντας με το τρένο σε μια πόλη όπου κάποτε έμενε, κινείται μέσα από παλιά στέκια προσπαθώντας φαινομενικά να εμπλακεί και πάλι με δύο εγκαταλελειμμένες σχέσεις, μια με έναν άντρα, μια με μια γυναίκα, αλλά συχνά φαίνεται απλά να εμπλέκετε περισσότερο με καθημερινά αντικείμενα τα οποία υπό λεπτομερή έλεγχο μοιάζουν παραισθησιακά. Η ίδια η διασπασμένη και εκφραστική εκδήλωση του τρισδιάστατου χώρου σε αυτή την στερεοσκοπική ταινία, σε συνδυασμό με το σημείο της προοπτικής του πρωταγωνιστή, βάζει τους θεατές μέσα σε αυτές τις παραμορφωμένες σχέσεις. Οι έντονες και οι οικείες αλληλεπιδράσεις των χαρακτήρων πρέπει να υπομείνουν με το να σπρωχθούν μέσα από κάθε κατάσταση η οποία είναι κλειδωμένη στην ταυτότητα κάποιου που αρνείται να συμμετάσχει, ή ίσως ακόμη και να υπάρξει.

*Η ταινία μικρού μήκους “THE CHIMERA OF M.” στο Ίδρυμα ARTos θα προβληθεί σε μορφή looped 3D projection και οι θεατές θα μπορούν να την παρακολουθήσουν καθόλη την διάρκεια των προβολών του SHORT MATTERS!, στις 16, 17 και 18 Σεπτεμβρίου.

Synopsis: Entering the already unfamiliar virtual space of a stereoscopic digital animation, viewers find themselves behind the eyes of an unseen and distinctly unreliable protagonist, so evasive that he and his motives can hardly be identified. Arriving by train at a town where he once lived, he moves through the old haunts seemingly attempting to re-engage with two abandoned relationships, one with a man, one with a woman, yet frequently appearing simply to become more engaged with quotidian objects made hallucinatory by close scrutiny. The very fractured and expressive manifestation of the three-dimensional space in this stereoscopic film, combined with the protagonist’s point of view, puts the viewers inside these contorted relationships. The pounding and intimate interactions of the characters have to be endured by being pushed through each situation locked into the identity of someone who refuses to participate, or maybe even to be.

*At ARTos Foundation the short film “THE CHIMERA OF M.” will be screened as a looped 3D projection and will be available for viewing throughout the screenings for SHORT MATTERS!, on the 16, 17 and 18 September.

Περίληψη: Ο Laci είναι ένας 16χρονος τσιγγάνος, ο οποίος τα βγάζει πέρα από περιστασιακές δουλειές. Μια μέρα, τον μαζεύουν από το δρόμο, μαζί με μια μικρή ομάδα εργατών, για μια δουλειά σε οικοδομή. Θα πρέπει να  συμμετάσχει στο χτίσιμο ενός τοίχου που περιβάλλει μια σειρά από κτίρια πολυκατοικιών. Η ταινία ακολουθεί τα διάφορα στάδια της κατασκευής, καθώς ο Laci βοηθά τους άλλους εργάτες. Στο τέλος, ο Laci καλείται να ολοκληρώσει τις εργασίες. Η πρώτη ματιά που ρίχνει πέρα από τον τοίχο, κρύβει μια ασυνήθιστη αποκάλυψη γι 'αυτόν.

Synopsis: Laci is a 16-year-old gypsy boy, who lives off casual jobs. One day, he gets picked up from the streets, along with a small group of workers, for a construction job. He has to participate in the completion of a wall that surrounds a series of tenement buildings. The film follows the various stages of the construction as Laci helps out the other workers. In the end, Laci is asked to complete the work. He now takes his first look beyond the wall, which holds an unusual revelation for him.
